“It is a joy to be hidden, and a disaster not to be found”

Therapy is an invitation to step into the safety and power that can come from being seen. Coming to know ourselves—our desires, pain, and inner templates—can feel daunting, yet this deeper self-understanding often opens the door to relief, possibility, and movement. Healing is a relational and collaborative process, and I work alongside each person to find an approach that honors who they are.
Through my past work at Park Slope Center for Mental Health and The Door, I have provided individual psychotherapy, conducted assessments, and supported clients across the lifespan, attending closely to identity, power, and systemic context.
I often support my clients navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, development of identity, interpersonal and familial challenges, and more. My clinical work is rooted in relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed modalities; my approach is integrative, remaining flexible and responsive to what best supports each client.
Leah Stahl, LMSW is a graduate of Smith College’s School for Social work and holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Prior to social work, Leah worked in community-facing settings (Housing Works, TEDx) building partnerships and supporting marginalized voices. These roles shaped how she attends to systems in the therapy room and how she engages with clients’ contextual realities and complexities.
