Veronica Sargent, LMSW, Psychotherapist

(She/Her)

Psychotherapist

Adults

Supervisor: Sara Pinsky

Greenpoint & Telehealth Locations

I believe therapy is a space where we can slow down and become curious about the underlying forces that shape our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which relies heavily on the power of the therapeutic relationship and attends to the unconscious–fears, wishes, conflicts, and experiences that may operate outside of awareness yet influence daily life. Together, we can explore these dynamics with openness and compassion, helping you gain insight, develop greater self-understanding, and create meaningful and lasting change.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and questions of identity and belonging. My clinical experience includes helping individuals understand recurring emotional and relational patterns, process difficult experiences including grief and loss, and explore aspects of power, privilege, and oppression across dimensions of identity. I enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and interested in understanding how past experiences, relationships, and social contexts shape their inner lives.

While psychodynamic therapy forms the foundation of my work, I tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs, creating a thoughtful, collaborative, and supportive therapeutic relationship.

Veronica Sargent, LMSW (she/her) has a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College and a Bachelors in Psychology and Child and Family Studies from Bryn Mawr College. Her practice is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, and she will begin advanced training in the Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program (IPPP) at the William Alanson White Institute in Fall 2026.
