Brooklyn Psychotherapy offers individual therapy on a weekly or twice weekly basis. Our therapists offer a wide range of philosophies and modalities, however, none are dogmatic in their approach and all see each individual as a unique person full of potential. Please see individual Therapists for biographies and specialties. Patients come to us for a variety of reasons as varied as human experience itself, including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, sexual issues, creative blocks, childhood trauma, sexual assault, relationship issues, and gender/trans related issues.
We do not offer Medication Management, however, we do refer our patients to a list of psychiatrists for additional care when needed.
If you are actively abusing alcohol or other substances, have an active eating disorder, or need help stabilizing your primary needs such as food and housing, you may treatment or services that Brooklyn Psychotherapy does not provider - such as Case Management, Detoxification or Rehab, or a Psychiatrist on staff among other supports. In these cases, we suggest that you visit NYC’s emergency services page: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/health/health-topics/crisis-emergency-services.page or call 911.
If you are actively suicidal, you should call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
